Enhancing our youth, one day At a time
Prodigy Movement Inc. supports historically under-resourced youth in Pender County through mentorship, scholarships, and enriching experiences to foster leadership, creativity, and community strength.
WHO WE ARE
Founded by Prentis Bannerman in 2023, Prodigy Movement Inc. was born from a father’s love, a deep commitment to community, and a clear vision for what every young person deserves.
Inspired by the life and death of his son, Ky’Waun — a bright young man whose promise was shaped and strained by the inequities facing under-resourced youth — Bannerman set out to build the kind of support system that too many young people never receive. In communities across rural Southeastern North Carolina, limited access, low exposure, and a lack of safe, affirming spaces can dim the potential of even the most gifted youth. Prodigy Movement exists to change that.
By investing in mentorship, exposure, and community-rooted support, Prodigy Movement Inc. has become a powerful force for youth in Pender County.
Through hands-on programs, strategic partnerships, and collaboration with local leaders, educators, and organizations committed to equity, the movement is expanding opportunities where they are urgently needed.
Led by a dedicated team of community-driven leaders, Prodigy Movement Inc. is empowering the next generation of Pender County youth to step into their potential with confidence, guidance, and a strong network behind them.

I was blown away by the college basket I received from Prodigy Movement. It wasn’t just the supplies — it was the care, encouragement, and support that made me feel seen and prepared for this next chapter.
