I'm Prentis Bannerman, CEO and President of Prodigy Movement Inc. The young man in the photo is my son, Ky'Waun — one of the greatest joys of my life. He was bright, full of promise, and had a future brimming with potential. Like many young people, he struggled under the weight of pressure. 

But through love, prayer, and open conversation, he began to turn his life around. He was speaking with hope again, setting goals, and stepping into the future we always knew he could have.

Then, on March 27, 2023, I got the phone call no parent should ever have to receive. My 20-year-old son was taken by senseless gun violence.

The pain of losing Kywaun is something I carry every single day. I wake up hoping it was all just a bad dream — but the reality remains. I’ll never again hear his voice, feel his hugs, or hear him say “Daddy, I love you.”

I couldn’t save my son. But I can and will fight to save someone else’s. That’s why I created Prodigy Movement Inc. — to reach young people before the streets do. To give them tools, guidance, and love. To help them discover their potential and stay on the right path. One day at a time.

This mission is personal. But I can’t do it alone.
